"I experience the transformation of a block of wax into an image that can evoke a smile or emotions as something magical. That makes sculpting almost addictive for me."
Lilian Steenhuisen (b. 1970) is a Dutch sculptor who has been creating figurative bronze sculptures since 2006. Her works are characterized by slender, elegant forms with a touch of exaggeration or humor, capturing emotions and movement in a unique way. Through her sculptures, she aims to evoke a smile or stir deeper emotions in the viewer.
Lilian’s artistic journey began with training in mold-making for bronze sculptures. While the craft of bronze casting did not suit her, she discovered a hidden talent for sculpting in wax. Since then, she has followed her passion and developed into a highly regarded sculptor.
